Margaret Elizabeth Pearson, 92, of 131 Pearson Farm Lane, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington.

A private funeral will be held at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with a public committal service at Holly Grove Christian Church with an estimated time of arrival at 2:15 PM, Saturday.

Margaret, born in 1928 in Pitt County, was the daughter of the late Claude Padgett, Sr. and Ruthie Bullock Padgett.  She was a homemaker and attended Holly Grove Presbyterian Church.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ashley Gray Pearson.  Mrs. Pearson enjoyed gardening and keeping a neat and clean home.  She enjoyed cooking from scratch for everyone to enjoy and she cherished her family.  In her recent years, she enjoyed taking rides and would comment about the beauty of the flowers and trees, which was a true testament of the simplicity of our mother.

Survivors include; daughters, Joyce Pearson Gainey and husband Glenn of Hillsborough and Betty Pearson Hatchell of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Shirley Joyce DeBruhl; grandchildren, Durwood Earl Hatchell, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC and Brooklyn Gainey Winters and husband Mike of Raleigh; and two greatgrandchildren, Barrett Winters of Raleigh and Ashley-Glen Winters of Raleigh.
