Lovia Creech Jackson Eldridge, 88, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at her home.
Visitation will be held from 6 PM – 7 PM, Tuesday, December 20th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday with Rev. John Adams at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City, NC.
Lovia, was born November 13, 1934 in Johnston County and was the daughter of the late Edwin Creech and Rena Creech. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Jackson, Jr. and John Eldridge, Sr. and brothers, Russell Creech and Wyatte Creech. She was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College and an Algebra and Geometry Teacher at Hobbton High School for 33 years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, golfing and traveling.
Survivors include: children, Lucia Dillard (Ovid), Sam Jackson, III (Cara) and Lynn Raynor (Mark); grandchildren, Ovid Dillard, III (Michelle), Hillmann Dillard, Rick Jackson, Sam Jackson, IV and Caroline Jackson; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Blake Dillard; and sister, Marjorie Hogge.
The family would like to thank Lovia’s caregivers, Jeanette Smith and Barbara Moore along with her nurse, Carol Aman for their love and devotion. They will long be remembered.
