Edward Lindsey Pope, 75, of 671 Parker Memorial Road, Clinton, passed away at his home, Sunday May 23, 2021 with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 26th at 11 AM at Owen Grove PFWB Church. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Garden. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM – 10:45 in Owen Grove PFWB fellowship hall Wednesday, just before the funeral service.
Born May 25, 1945, Lindsey was the son of George Edward and Lorine Thornton Pope. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army. He was a lifelong member of Owen Grove PFWB Church where he sang in the choir, served as a deacon and many elected positions. He was a retired farmer who planted many seeds in the ground over the years but his greatest accomplishment was the seeds he sowed in the hearts of many many young people he worked on the farm over the years. Lindsey was a dedicated man to this family, his church and his community and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bevy Phillips Pope; sons, Edward Lindsey Pope, Jr. (Rab) and wife Tami, William Tracy Pope and wife Beth and George Clayton Pope (deceased) and wife Anita all of Clinton; eight grandchildren, Lindsay Leigh Pope, Tyler Pope, Colby Pope, Maddie Pope, Rachel McLamb (Seth), Trey Pope, Georgia Pope, and Dodge Pope; and great-grandson, Jones Edward McLamb.
