Lillian Delores Sholar Johnson, 95, of 5315 Cornwallis Road, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at her home.

Funeral service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, April 26th at New Hope Baptist Church in Turkey, with Pastor Tena Johnson and Rev. Mike Shook officiating.  Interment will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends just before the service from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the home.

Lillian, born September 29, 1930 in Duplin County, was the daughter of the late Raleigh Alton Sholar and Hettie Raynor Sholar.  She worked as a hospital assistant dietary manager.  Lillian was a former tax lister for the county of Sampson and a former telephone operator supervisor.  In addition, she was Chairman of the Building and Grounds for New Hope Baptist Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Daniel Johnson and siblings Reba Lanier (Wilt) and Opal Quinn (Graham).

Survivors include: son, Danny Johnson and wife Tena of Turkey; daughter, Tammy Johnson Heller of Greenville; grandchildren, Ashley Tripp (Chris), Paula Cowan (Alex) and Mary Pope (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Krissie Tripp, Hadley Tripp, Mila Cowan and Maverick Cowan.

Memorials may be made to New Baptist Church, c/o Jennifer Blanchard, 3036 Cornwallis Road, Turkey, NC  28393.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Shirley Colwell, Bridget Lucas and Shanice Wilson along with the 3HC Hospice Staff, Amanda, Susan, Megan, Katie and Kaitlin for their love and support during this difficult time.
