Kathy Ann Matthis, 69, of 212 Martha Lane, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at Rex Hospital.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, January 21st at the Matthis Family Cemetery with Rev. Norman Futrell officiating.  

Kathy, born December 2, 1953 in Virginia, was the daughter of the late Bruce Everett Carroll and Mary Steel Carroll.  She was truck driver for Murphy Brown and retired from the US Army with honors.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Lang Matthis.

Survivors include: daughter, Jacqueline Carroll Childress; son, Benjamin Matthis; and grandchildren, Chandler B. L. Childress, Natalie Ann Childress and Emma Lee Morales.
