Julian  Franklin "J. F."  Wright, 76, of 3554 Roseboro Hwy., passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Ray Ammons officiating.  Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Garden.

J. F., born in 1941 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Franklin Duncan Wright and Edna Earle Waters Wright.  He worked in the canteen vending service and spent numerous years coaching all sports at Royal Lane Park in Clinton.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Rachel Overman Wright. 

Survivors include: wife of fifty-one years Linda McCullen Wright; sons, David Wright (Billie McLamb), Brian Wright (Jami Tyler), and Jeffrey Wright (Alecia Carlisle); grandchildren, Austin Wright, Hunter Wright, Ashley Williams, Dylan Tyler, Kaitlyn Tyler, Peyton Tyler, Blaine Norwood Jones and Ally Jacobs; sisters, Mary Ann Hobbs and husband Willie and Linda W. Whitehurst and husband Neil; sister-in-law, Edna Sadler of Jacksonville, Florida; step-sisters, Elaine Overman and Gayle Overman Cobb; step-brothers, Neel Overman, Clarence Overman and Mark Overman;  and fur baby, Jessie.

The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M., Friday, April 13, 2018 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville St., Clinton, NC  28328 and at other times at the home of his son Brian, at 4725 Garland Hwy., Clinton, NC  28328.
