Judith "Judy" Puryear Hairr Stallings, 81, passed on to be with the Lord, December 16, 2022.  She will be missed by family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, December 19th at Ingold Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Bass and Rev. Clay Carter officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rowan Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM just before the service at Ingold Baptist Church and at other times at the home.

Judy was active in the music program at Rowan Baptist Church for 39 years, serving as organist.  She taught Sunday School for many years at Rowan Baptist Church and at Ingold Baptist Church.  She served as a Deacon at Ingold Baptist Church and was member of WMU at both churches along with many other capacities.  She graduated from Ingold-Taylors Bridge High School, attended business college in Raleigh, NC and was a legal assistant to Miles B. Fowler, Attorney at Law for 43 years and at the law office Daughtry and Starling, Attorneys part-time for 17 years.  Judy was a member of the Ol’ Lighnin Roads Car Club and a member of Chapter 267 Order of the Eastern Star in Newton Grove.

In addition to her parents, Robert Evans Puryear and Christine Rawls Puryear she was preceded in death by her first husband Deames Glenwood Hairr and second husband Sherwood David Stallings and sister Deborah Kay Puryear.

She is survived by a step-daughter, Tina Stallings Rand (Daniel) and step-grandson Kevin Byrd; brothers, Don Wilson Puryear (Kathy) and Robert Neil Puryear (Mary Alice); nephews, Kenneth Neil Puryear, Allen Puryear, Eric Puryear, Patrick Puryear and Douglas Hairr; sisters-in-law, Sudie Hairr Cannady, Patricia Hairr Pope, Marilyn Stallings Kersey and Shirley Stallings; brothers-in-law, Terry Williams and Jimmy Kersey; nieces, Kecia Wilson, Jennifer Massey and Brooke Blackman.
