Joy Lee Dixon Alderman, 47, of 207 Glendale Ave., passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, at Duke University Hospital.


Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, February 7th at Clinton Community Church with Rev. Mark Fields and Rev. E. C. Mattocks officiating.  Interment will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home of Ronnie and Patricia Alderman at 7907 Boykin Bridge Road, Clinton.


Joy was born on December 8, 1978, in Sampson County.  She was the daughter of the late Milton “Sonny” Lee Dixon, Jr. and Patsy Jean Mattocks Dixon.  She was an Insurance Agent and Office Manager with Group Benefits Service.  Joy was a parent leader for the Clinton Tigers Cheer Team and a member of Clinton Community Church.  In addition, she was an award-winning shag dancer and instructor.


Survivors include her husband of 17 years Cory Alderman, daughters Annalee Taylor Alderman and Lauralynn James Alderman, mother Pasty M. Dixon, sisters Sarah Beth Holland and Heather Robinson, father-in-law and mother-in-law Ronnie and Patricia Alderman, brothers-in-law Eric and wife Kelly, Blake and wife Leslie and Blair and wife Karen, nieces and nephews Toby, Ethan, Hannah, Larkyn, Hadley, Finley, Kelsey, Madelyn, Baylor, two great-nephews and one great-niece.


In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Clinton Tigers Cheerleading Team (Joy Alderman Fund), Atten: Cory Alderman, 207 Glendale Ave., Clinton, NC  28328.
