A new guardian angel earned his wings today with the death of our beloved father, Mr. Joe A. Parker, 101. He passed away at his home on January 14, 2023 and went to join our Heavenly Father.
A Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, January 18th at McGee United Methodist Church with Pastor Andy Wood and Rev. Bobby Herring officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
Joe, was born October 14, 1921 in Sampson County. He was the son of the late Joe A. and Lizzie Parker. He was a retired self-employed farmer and a life-long member of McGee United Methodist Church. His greatest passion was working the land on his farm, growing a beautiful garden which he shared its bounty with friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Joe leaves behind to cherish precious memories; daughters, Nancy Stein (Jerry) of Columbia, SC and Ellen Chambers of Raleigh; son, Joe Frank Parker of Roseboro; three grandsons, Andy Stein of Charlotte, Kent Stein of Columbia, SC and Joey Parker of Roseboro; great grandchildren Stephen Stein and, Ashley Jeffress (John); great great-grandchildren, Jase Parker Jeffress and Jovi Jeffress
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Grace Sutton Parker of 78 years, son James Ronald Parker, grandson Nelson Lee Parker, daughter-in-law Gail Parker, son-in-law J. D. Chambers, and brother James Henry Parker.
