Joseph Alvah Tremayne Garey, 40, of 429 Tomahawk Hwy, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, March 15th at Rowan Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Carter and Rev. Richard Weeks officiating.  Interment will follow in the Harrells Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 PM until, Saturday, March 14th at Rowan Baptist Church.

Joseph was born June 20, 1985 in Sampson County.  He was the son of Donald Garey and Patricia Adams Garey.  He was a proud chicken farmer and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a dear friend to all that knew him.

Survivors include: wife, Joan Marie Moore; parents, Don and Patricia Garey; brother Don Garey; and his right-hand man, Jimmy Lamb; paternal grandmother, Patricia Garey; nieces, Halle and Harper Garey; brothers-in-law, Blake Moore, Matt Moore and Will Moore; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Joan Moore; furbabies, Sadie and Bean; and many other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rowan Baptist Church (Joseph Garey Fund), 701 Rowan Road, Clinton, NC  28328, as Joe had a heart to help others.
