Johnny H. Burgess

Johnny Houston Burgess, 79, of 70 Stanborne Ln. Clinton, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 7, at Rowan Baptist Church with the Rev. Clay Carter and Rev. Mike Shook officiating interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park Cemetery.. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 10-11:00 A.M. at the church and other times at the home.

Johnny, born in Sampson Co. was the son of the late Allie Lee Burgess and Callie Phillips Burgess. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Johnny retired from Prestage Farms. Johnny was full of life and laughter and he loved TV westerns, playing golf, fishing and babies.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 21 years, Ernestine Wilbourne Burgess, a son, Johnny Burgess (Nicole) of Morehead, daughter Lisa Burgess of Rose Hill, grandchildren: Zackary Johnson (Katie), Callie B. Smith (Wayne), Addie Burgess, great-grandchild Lyam Johnson, sisters: Daphne Bowden and Elizabeth Warren, step-sons: Ricky Stanley and Larry Gautier, step grandchildren: Jessica Lane, Audrey Seguine, Holli Gautier, Jacob Stanley, Josh Boyette, Jennifer Boyette, step great-grandchildren: Katlyn Lane, Ansley Lane, Emma Seguine, Olivia Seguine, James Seguine, Colton Stanley, Cayden Stanley.
