John "Johnny" Robert Bullard, III

John (Johnny) Robert Bullard, III, 64, of 2268 Union School Road, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 12th at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. Lynn Bullock, Rev. Jeffrey Barber and Rev. Pat Trobaugh officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home. 

Johnny, born March 25, 1959 in Sampson County, was the son of the late John Robert Bullard, Jr. and Myrl Jean Spearman Bullard.  He worked in food sales and various types of distribution.  He loved to see kids excel in sports and enjoyed spending time with and working with youth in the Sampson County Recreation Department.  Johnny loved tailgating before his son’s football games on Friday nights.  He especially loved cooking and used his passion to connect and provide for his community.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Vicki Bass, brother-in-law Mike Bass, and brother-in-law Paul Harn.

Survivors include: wife, Denise Brewer Bullard; sons, Connor Bullard and wife Phoebe and Taylor Bullard and wife Jordan; grandchildren, Brynn Harper Bullard, Campbell Marie Bullard, Hayes Johnson Bullard and Austin Leigh Bullard; sisters, Lynn McLamb and husband Tommy and Deborah Harn; He was “Uncle Johnny ” to special nieces and nephews, George Eakins, Kristy Bass, Bradley Bass, Kristen Shepherd, Cameron McLamb and Dana Inch.
