Joan Marie Herring, 63, of 510 W Elizabeth St., Apt. D, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, September 7th at Clinton City Cemetery with Elder Jeremy Holloman officiating.

Joan, who was born April 14, 1958 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Osborne David Strickland and Mary Ruth Callihan Strickland.  She was a nurse in the healthcare industry. 

Survivors include; children, Holly S. Holloman  (Jeremy) of Mt. Olive and Matthew Howard Herring (Katie) of Newton Grove; grandchildren, Kevin Wayne Strickland, II of San Jose, CA, Brandon Holloman and wife Danielle of Provo, Utah, Ethan Holloman of Provo, Utah, Kimberly Holloman of Mt. Olive, Jaxson Holloman of Mt. Olive, Cameron Holloman of Mt. Olive, Kearstin Herring of Myrtle Beach, Tanner McNeese of Newton Grove, and Roman Herring, of Newton Grove;  great-grandchild, Charlotte; brothers, David Strickland, Jr. (Connie) and Mark Strickland (Charlene); sister, Ruth Ann Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
