Jo Ann Simmons, 76, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, July 30th at Grandview Memorial Garden with Rev. Sam Henderson and Rev. Ricky Jacobs officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 AM – 10 AM, Thursday, July 30th just before the graveside service at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
Jo Ann, born March 27, 1944 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Julius Edward Maynor and Ellen E. Whitehead. She was a hairdresser and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; adopted parents, Rev. Wilbert Lee Ammons and Alice Ammons; brothers, J. D. Maynor, Wilson Lee Maynor and Bobby Edward Ammons; aunts, Margaret White of Mebane, Gladys M. Jacobs of Clinton; and uncle, Frank Maynard of Burlington.
Survivors include: husband of 52 years, Ken Simmons; son, Joseph Andy Simmons and wife Noelle of Raleigh/Durham; grandchildren, Reagan Grace Simmons and Madison Kate Simmons; sister, Gladys M. Lynch (Michael) of Clinton; brother, Julius F. Ammons (Shalisa) of Charlotte; aunts, Odell Epps of Hope Mills, Dovie Clark of Hope Mills and Flossie Salzazr of Florida.
