Jimmy, born on January 14, 1947 in Sampson County was the son of the late Rev. Matthew Hobbs and Bessie Jane Hobbs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson Jerry Draughon and his brother Bobby Hobbs and sister Shirley Hobbs Williams.
As a young man, he served in the US Army for 4 years in the States and overseas. He had several careers in his life but will be most remembered for his vinyl siding business of 40 years, along side his beloved brother Bobby Hobbs. He regularly attended Bethany PFWB Church in Clinton and loved his church family. Jimmy was loved by all that knew him. He played such a big part in helping to raise his two grandchildren, Brandon and Sam, who were the apple of his eye.
