Jimmy Lloyd Bishop, 70, of 8668 Hwy 41 S, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, October 11th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Tyndall Spell Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his sister, Ann Thornton, at 1919 Boney Mill Road, Clinton.
Jimmy, born July 31, 1955, in Sampson County, was the son of the late William Paul Bishop and Fleecy Spell Bishop. He was a roofer in the construction business and also worked at Thornton Body Shop. He was a veteran of US Army and a member of the 82nd Airborne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother W. P. Bishop and sister-in-law Margaret Bishop.
Survivors include daughter, Michelle Fields and husband Joe; sisters, Ann Thornton and husband Freddie and Diana Lewis and husband Alan; grandchildren, Falisha Bishop, Austin Bishop, Abagail Fields and Addison Fields; girlfriend of 25 years, Mary Fann; and several nieces and nephews.
