Jasper "Rusty" Ray Barber, 79, of Clinton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
Born on June 20, 1945, in Sampson County, Rusty was the son of Jasper "Jap" Ottis Barber and Della Mae Tyndall Barber. A man of deep faith, Rusty loved the Lord and dedicated himself to making sure that his friends and family had received Christ as their Savior. He was a devoted member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church.
Rusty is lovingly remembered by his two sons, Ray Thompson (Traci) and Richard O'Donnell (Lyn), four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Harrison, Billy, and Dillion, and his sister Gracie B. Moore (Henry). He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Sharon Byrd Barber, sisters and brothers in law, Lillie Mae Barber, Betsy B. & Hugh Keith; Dorothy (Dot) B. & Doug King.
We would like to thank his family and friends for their love and support. A special thank you to his nephew, Timmy Hairr for his constant care of Rusty during his recent illness.
