Ms. Janice Marlene Simmons Odom, 76, formerly of Clinton, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Goldsboro Assisted Living Center in Goldsboro, NC. 

A memorial service for Ms. Odom will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 3 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Newton and Rev. Dr. Chris Webb, officiating.  The family will receive family and friends from 2-3 PM before the memorial service and other times at the home of her daughter, Verlie Pittman at 258 Billy Price Road, Seven Springs, NC 28578.

Janice was born on July 11, 1949, to the late Oliver Green Simmons and Ada Bell Freeman Simmons in Sampson County.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Carol Brewington, Deloris Simmons and Glenda Foss.  Janice worked in Turkey Production Industry.

Left to cherish her memories are her 2 daughters, Janet Denise Lewis (Raymond), Verlie Elaine Pittman (Jimmy), and a son Kenny Ray Odom (Amber) along with her former husband and friend Kent Odom.  She also leaves behind 6 Grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Pittman, Kimberly Elaine Holland (Dillon), Grace Annette Shivar, Gavin Ray Odom, Garrett Hunter Odom, and Brealyn Elizabeth Odom and 2 Great Grandchildren, Nova Alise Holland and Wesley Brayden Oliver, a sister, Sarah Davis and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
