Mr. James Thomas Marshburn 92, of Clinton, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Funeral services for Mr. Marshburn will be Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 12 PM, at Rowan Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Carter, officiating and burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 11 AM.
 

James Thomas was born in Sampson County on November 14, 1932, to the late James Moore Marshburn and Mary Thomas Torrace Marshburn.  Mr. Marshburn was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gertrude Steed Marshburn, and a son, James Thomas Marshburn, Jr.    Mr. Marshburn served in the National Guard, and was a truck driver, a farmer, and a member of the Gideons.  He was a longtime member of Rowan Baptist church where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his son, David Michael Marshburn of Clinton and his daughter, Becky Marshburn (Jennifer) of Castle Hayne, 2 grandchildren; Michael Badger Marshburn & Isabella "Bella" Marshburn, 3 Great Grandchildren; James Tyler Marshburn, Matthew Ethan Marshburn (Morgan) and Morgan Taylor Marshburn (Cameron), and 4 Great-great Grandchildren; Hunner Winters, Raelynn Marshburn, Hudson Winters and Easton James Marshburn.
