James McCoy Farmer, 83, of 2849 Straw Pond School Road, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, March 1st at Old Mill Church of God with Rev. Donnie Honeycutt officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Farmer Family Cemetery in Roseboro.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home.

James, Born August 11, 1941, in Sampson County, was the son of the late Prentis Farmer and Louise Elizabeth Bass Farmer.  He was an insurance salesman and attended Old Mill Church of God.  James was a Veteran of the US Army.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Maudie Marlowe Farmer and grandson James Farmer, III.

Survivors include: children, Carolyn Farmer, BeLinda Thompson, and James Farmer, Jr.; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles Farmer.
