Mrs. Jacqueline (Jackie) Worley Reeves Matthews, 91 of Salemburg, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 2 PM at Calvary PFWB Church with Rev. Wayne Johnson, officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service.
Jackie was born on July 29, 1933, to the late Purley Jackson & Bettie Katherine Grantham Worley. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Norman C Reeves and Edward Matthews and a grandson, Gary Jason Gainey and her siblings, Newton Dixon Worley, Flossie Lee Worley Pope and Mosley Gray Worley. Jackie was the first female deacon at Calvary PFWB Church which she loved dearly. She worked in the manufacturing industry as a payroll clerk. In her spare time, she was an avid gardener, and she loved to fish.
Jackie leaves to cherish her memory 2 daughters, Gail Gainey (Alfred Bass) of Clinton and Tammy R Tew (Steve) of Roseboro, 4 grandchildren, Ryan Tew, Lindsay McNeill, Erica Cribbs and Katie Pate, 14 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-great grandchildren and 2 stepdaughters, Connie Carr and Margie Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Calvary PFWB Church, 6570 High House Rd., Salemburg, NC 28385.
