Houston Butler Warren, 92, of 1770 Straw Pond School Road, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at his home.
Funeral will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, January 10th at Mt. Elam Baptist Church with the Rev. Brandon Glunt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A walk-through visitation will be held from 10 AM – 4 PM, Saturday, January 9th, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home without the family present. The family will receive friends at the home of his son, William at 1830 Straw Pond School Road, Roseboro, N.C.
Houston, born in 1928 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Langdon Demanister Warren and Nadine Butler Warren. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lambeth Warren, and grandson, James O’Tuel Warren, Jr. He was an educator with Sampson County Schools and Fayetteville Technical Community College. retiring after thirty five years of teaching. After retiring from education, he became a contract grower of turkeys with Prestage Farms and a contract grower of pigs for Smithfield Foods. He was a member of Mingo Masonic Lodge #206 and a member of Mt. Elam Baptist Church.
Survivors include; sons, William Houston Warren and wife Donna, James O’Tuel Warren and wife Stephanie, and Louis Langdon Warren; sisters, Betty Allen Warren Jackson and Elsie Jane Warren McLamb; grandchildren, Meredith Warren Stewart, Caroline Louise Warren, Kathryn Warren Saylors, and Elizabeth Warren Eagan; six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in the name of Houston B. Warren to Mt. Elam Baptist Church, 2211 Mt. Elam Church Road, Roseboro, NC 28382.
