Homer Lee Tew, 95, of 380 Williams Lake Road, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Betsy Johnson Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, May 27th at Old Mill Church of God with Rev. Donnie Honeycutt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM – 2:45 PM, at the church and at other times at the home.
Homer, born September 28, 1930 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Jim Ransom Tew and Nettie Eliza Jackson Tew. He was a farmer and worked in Maintenance at Burlington Industries. Mr. Tew was a Korean War Veteran in the US Army and a charter member of Old Mill Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Edna Ruth Parker Tew and his siblings Claxton Tew, Dalmer Tew, Lucille T. Faircloth, Christine Knoll and Patsy Honeycutt.
Survivors include; daughter, Sue Herring; son, Charles Lee Tew and wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Christy Tierney (Shannon), Misty Jernigan (Don) and Carrie Whittenton (Justin); great-grandchildren, Donathan Jernigan and Josiah Tierney; step-great-grandchildren, Jonah Tart, and sister-in-law, Mary Parker.
