On January 8, 2024, George Marshall Tyndall, 83, of 377 Beaver Road Clinton, passed away peacefully in the company of loved ones.
He had been a resident of Rolling Ridge Assisted Living for the past 7 months with his loving wife of 64 years, Mittie Grace Pope Tyndall.
He was the son of Wiley Iverson Tyndall and Addie Lee Dudley Tyndall. He was preceded in death by siblings Robert Iverson Tyndall, Ottis Carr Tyndall, Annie Frances Tyndall Tew, Alice Christine Tyndall Fields, Mary Magdalene Tyndall Tart, and infant Shelby Jean Tyndall.
He is survived by his sister, Hattie Doris Tyndall Steedly (husband, Charlie Steedly). He has two daughters, Angelia Tyndall Bass (husband, Carl Wayne Bass) and Jean (Missy) Tyndall Hunter (husband, Eric Clifton Hunter). He has 3 grandchildren, Emily Bass Smith (husband, Rev. Aaron Smith), Tyndall Kelly Hunter (wife, Kyla Westbrook Hunter) and Kyle Logan Hunter (girlfriend, Breanna Hijma). He has three great grandchildren, Thatcher Truth Smith, Paisley Grey Hijma, and Waylon Brave Smith (two great grandchildren are expected).
Marshall has owned Tyndall’s Seafood since 1985. He worked for Colonial Stores and Piggly Wiggly as a meat cutter and was a farmer for many years. He enjoyed work and the friends he met over the years.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Hairr and Rev. Aaron Smith officiating. Visitation with friends and family will be at 10:00 followed by the funeral service at 11:00. Burial will follow at Clinton Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
