George Nelson Jackson, 81, of 788 Balkcum Road, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Rex Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, January 14tth at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Murray officiating. The interment will be private with the family only. The family will receive friends one hour before the service and at other times at the home.
George, born January 13, 1941 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Charlie Jackson and Myrtle Mae Barfield Jackson. He retired from Carroll’s as a supervisor. After retirement he enjoyed spending time outdoors and wood working. He was member of Carr Memorial Christian Church and attended Salem United Methodist Church with his family, In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brothers, Thomas Jackson and Charles Lee Jackson.
Survivors include: wife of 56 years, Doris Jean Jackson; children, Tammy Jackson, Debbie Jackson, and Granger Jackson (Jennifer); step-grandchildren, D. J. Williard (Kaitlyn), Austin Williard, and Logan Williard; step-great grandchildren, Lyla Williard; nephew and nieces, Cindy Bell, Lee Jackson, Gene Butler and Charles Moore; and several cousins.
