Mr. George Eldridge Hairr, 91, of 2016 Isaac Weeks Rd. Clinton, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024 at his home with family at his side.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 10th, at Plainview Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Chubby Reiber officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM the day of the service and other times at the home.

George, born in Sampson Co., was the son of the late Carlo Layton Hairr and Katy Jane Bass Hairr. He was also preceded in death by a son, Mike Hairr. George was a Veteran of The United States Army, a farmer, and a retired USDA Meat Inspector. He was a member of Plainview Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include: His wife of 72 years, Dora Jean Currie Hairr, daughter, Shelia Hairr Jackson (Sam), grandchildren: Karla Jackson Bihm (Sonny), Lindsay Jackson McDaniel, great-grandchild, Jackson McDaniel and sister Murline Britt.
