Mrs. Garnett Vivian Jacobs, 89, of 1204 Mt. Moriah Church Road, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 at the home of her daughter.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, March 17th at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Newton, Rev. Charles Locklear and Rev. Hubbard Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
Garnett, born September 4, 1936, in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Jasper Rains and Clyda Jacobs Rains. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and worked in the Cumberland County Schools cafeteria. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Norman Bailey Jacobs, daughter Freda Jacobs and sisters Sudie Bryant, Maxine Bryant, Geraldine Rains, Ophelia Jacobs, Sorana Brewington and Mabel Goins.
Survivors include; daughters, Julia Bell (Craig) and Tina Jacobs (Jonathan), grandchildren, Michael Bell (Briana), Ashley Bell (Roscoe), Scott Bell (Brittany), Kiah James (Alfred) and Donovan McCrimmon; great-grandchildren, Mariah Bell, Mahayla Bell, Niah Torres, Jaiden Bell, Paislee Bell, Tatum McNair, Baylyn Bell and Asher Bell; and brother, Perdy Raines.
