Mrs. Frances Ann Shew Tart, 89, passed away, Monday, February 13, 2023 at the home of her daughter, Susan, in Washington, NC.

Funeral service will be held at, 3 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 408 College St., Clinton, with Rev. Dr.  Ray Ammons officiating.  Interment will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home, 134 Kimberly Dr., Clinton.

Frances, born August 12, 1933 in Alamance County, was the daughter of the late Annie Lucille Shipp Rowe and step-daughter of the late Rev. Wood Young Rowe.  She was a 1951 graduate of Clinton High School. She retired with the Clinton City School System and was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton.    She loved her family dearly and was loved by many.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Tart, USAF Ret.  and son William Tart. 

She is survived by: son, John Tart and wife Anita of CO; daughter, Susan Tart Edgerton of Washington, NC; daughter-in-law, Connie Tart of MN; grandchildren, Robert Tart, Neil Tart, Amanda Burris and Zachary Edgerton; great-grandchildren, Ilee Tart, Aiden Burris and Austin Burris; brother, Almond Shew and wife Ann of Marion, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Family Ministry Center, 408 College Street, Clinton, NC  28328.
