Faye Pearson Obituary

Mrs. Lillie Faye Weeks Pearson, age 85 of Clinton, passed from her earthly bonds on the morning of Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Vidant Duplin Hospital.  Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Parker Pearson; her parents, Bennie Elmond Weeks and Hazel Hinson Weeks; her brothers Leamon Weeks and wife Muriel and Mike Weeks; and her great granddaughter, Grace Roberson.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are her children, Nancy Dillman, Mark & Connie Pearson, Mary Jane & Greg Osborne, and Jason & Mikki Pearson; grandchildren, Jake & Temple Dillman, Dusty & Carrie Osborne, Jami and Marc Kmec, Jenni & Brandon Roberson, Sarah & Chris Brewington, Tyner Pearson, Jeb Dillman, Zeth Pearson and Halin Pearson; great-grandchildren, Riley Osborne, J.P. Brewington, James Kmec, Reynolds Roberson & Henry Osborne; brother Sandy Weeks & wife Barbara; sister-in-law Carol Austin Weeks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and special friends.

Reared in the Herring Community, Faye was a graduate of the Clinton High School Class of 1953.  She loved telling how she spent her teenage years at the old Sampson County Jail on Vance Street, often without explaining that her father was the jailer and they lived in the quarters provided with his position.  After her marriage to Herbert in 1956, she devoted her life to working by his side on their farm and raising their family.  Faye was a devoted wife and mother but most enjoyed the title “MaMa” and doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Although raised in the Baptist Church, she was a faithful member of Epworth United Methodist Church once she married.  Serving in various capacities over the years, her favorite contribution was singing Alto in the church choir.

When not in the kitchen preparing delicious home cooked, southern style meals, she loved to work in her yard and raise a bountiful garden and beautiful flowers.  She provided inspiration for many years with a card ministry remembering the special dates in the lives of others.  After the death of her husband, she spent many years volunteering weekly along with Kay Hobbs at Mary Gran Nursing Center and dearly loved exploring with her “Beautiful Beauty Shop Babes,” or as they preferred to be called, the BBBs.  By far, her most favorite times were those spent with her family sharing one of her wonderful meals.

A graveside Homegoing Service will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 2 PM at the Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery on 701 S, Clinton, NC with Rev. Sam Grist officiating.  The family will receive visitors at the cemetery immediately after the service and other times at the home.  Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Memorials may be made to Epworth Church Cemetery Fund, 5876 Garland Hwy., Clinton NC 28328 and/or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family is truly thankful for the opportunity to observe first-hand the power of our mighty God over the past few weeks and will be forever grateful for the wonderful care and support provided by the awesome staffs of the Parish Family Care Home, Community Home Care & Hospice and Vidant Duplin Hospital.
