Ethel "Mirjean" (Barefoot) Blackman

Ethel Mirjean Blackman, 85, of 300 Warsaw Road, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025 at Mary Gran Nursing Facility.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2025 at First Baptist Church, 408 College St., Clinton, with Rev. Ray Ammons officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.  Interment will follow in the Shady Grove PFWB Church Cemetery, 7541 Newton Grove Hwy., Dunn, NC.

Mirjean, born January 16, 1940 in Johnston County, was the daughter of the late Marvin Anderson Barefoot and Ethel Roena Hudson Barefoot.  She worked at Harrells Christian Academy for over 29 years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Ken Blackman, grandchild Lilian Blackman, brother Thomas Barefoot, and sisters Myrtle Smith, Ada LeHardy and Ruth Metcalf.

Survivors include: husband of 68 years, Charles Blackman; sons, Mitch Blackman and wife Tammy of Clayton and Mark Blackman and wife Lynne of Spartanburg, SC; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
