Ernest Ray Cain, 76, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at his home.
Graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, June 28th at Turkey Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Willie Bowden Jr., officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the Turkey Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Ray, born February 12, 1947 in Johnston County was the son of Hosea Woodall Cain and the late Ernest Cain. He was a member of Turkey Baptist, a volunteer fireman with Turkey VFD, and owned his own trucking company. He drove trucks for over 42 years. Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister Cathy Dellinger.
Survivors include: wife of 56 years. Sally Dianne Matthis Cain; mother, Hosea Woodall Cain; children, Lisa R. Cain and Laura D. Cain; grandchildren, Garrett Whipkey, Jack Whipkey, Savannah Tyndall (Jordan), Abigail Whipkey and Alannah Cain; sister, Peggy Mizelle; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and special caregivers, Edna Murphy, Brittany Parker and Willie Bowden, Jr.
