Elbert Nixton Spell, Jr. “Nicky” passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Southwood Nursing Center.

Funeral service will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, September 20th, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Massey and Brother Robert Cribbs officiating.  Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Garden.  The family will receive friends from 6 PM – 8 PM, Tuesday, September 19th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his parents at 7612 Keener Road, Clinton.

Nicky, born January 16, 1965 in Sampson County, was the son of Elbert Nixton Spell, Sr. and Alease Bradshaw Spell.  He worked with Prestage Farms, retired from Halls Fire Department and attended St. Matthews Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Mamie Branch Bradshaw and William Bradshaw and paternal grandparents, Lyda Tyndall Spell and Rassie Spell.

Survivors include: parents, Elbert Sr. and Alease Bradshaw Spell; children, Nick Bartley Spell (Evelyn), Nicole Lynn Spell and Austin Corey Spell; grandchildren, Drake Spell, Alessa Spell, Nick Spell, Jr. and Shaniya Spell; brother, Arnold Spell (Teresa); and special family, Donaldo Cruz (Metalupe).
