Elbert Nixton Spell, Sr. 84, of 7612 Keener Road, passed away at his home, Saturday, December 20, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

Funeral Services for Mr. Spell will be Monday, December 29, 2025, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville St. Clinton NC, at 1 PM with Rev. Donald Massey and Rev. Robert Cribbs, officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, 2809 N US 421 Hwy. Clinton NC.  The family will receive friends at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 12 - 1 PM and other times at his home.

Elbert, born May 30, 1941, in Sampson County was the son of the late Rassie Nixton Spell and Lyda Tyndall Spell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife Alease Bradshaw Spell, son Elbert Nixton Spell, Jr. “Nicky”, stepmother Alma Jackson Spell, siblings R. B. Spell, Maurice Spell, A. E. Spell, Willford Spell, Donnie Spell, Tonnie Spell, Audie Spell, T. J. Melvin, Jerry Melvin, Allena Edge, Eldrena Carter, Olarease Holloway, Shirley Naylor and Diana Tew.

Survivors include: son Arnold Spell and wife Teresa, daughter-in-law Marilyn Daughtry Spell, grandchildren Bartley Spell (Evelyn), Nicole Spell Rappleye (Daniel) and Austin Spell (Payton Parker), Heather Mendoza (Ricardo) and Tonya Davis, four great-grandchildren Drake, Alessa, Nick Jr. and Shaniya Spell, thirteen step grandchildren, seven step-great grandchildren, siblings Brenda Hall and husband George, Welton Spell, Burnice Melvin and wife Faye and sisters-in-laws Faye Melvin, Jane Spell and Rebecca Spell and special family Donald and Malupe Cruz, Chris, Beatrice and Angel.
