Edith Starling Harrison, born on March 8, 1927, in Clinton, NC, passed away on March 28, 2024, in Winston-Salem, NC, after a brief illness.
Edith graduated from East Carolina Teachers College and pursued a career as a teacher in Robbins, NC. She had a passion for learning and was an avid reader who enjoyed solving NY Times crossword puzzles and playing Bridge. Edith had a keen eye for antiques and took pleasure in collecting plate ware and furniture. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and attending family reunions.
Edith is preceded in death by her spouse of 53 years, R. Wayne Harrison, her parents Williams L. Starling, Sr. and Hilda Baggett Starling, her sister Janie Kopp (Bill), her brothers Joel Starling (Delores) and Billy Starling (Katherine).
She is survived by her two sons, R. Bradley Harrison (Linda) and Michael W. Harrison (Lisa), her brother Donald Starling (late wife Annell), and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services for Edith will be held at Forest Lawn East in Matthews, NC, where she will be interred at 1:00 P.M. April 25, 2024.
