Dwight Linwood Peterson Sr., 92, of 2388 Union School Road, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Saturday, November 22, 2025, at his home.

Graveside service will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, November 25th at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Lynn Bullock and Don Matthis officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the graveside.

Dwight, born January 29, 1933, in Sampson County, was the son of the late Wade Franklin Peterson and Annie Laurie Peterson.  He was a retired Field Agent for the US Department of Agriculture and a veteran of the US Army.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Emma Maynard Peterson, children Vickie Peterson Morrison (Kenneth), Dwight Linwood  “Pete” Peterson, Jr., Laurie Peterson Adkins (Jeff),  seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
