Clinton,
A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Carol Stroud Moore, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the age of 87. She will lovingly be remembered by her family and friends.
Carol, born February 24, 1936 in Kinston, NC, was the daughter of the late Isaac Junior Stroud and Ruth Swinson Stroud. She was the beloved wife of Frank Bunting Moore. She was a member of First Methodist Church and the C. Freeman Heath Sunday School class. She was a woman of faith and shared her love of Jesus Christ with family and friends. She started playing piano at Pink Hill Presbyterian Church when she was in the 6th grade. Carol sang in the choir at West Minister United Methodist Church in Kinston, NC. She and Frank moved to Warsaw and they joined the Warsaw Methodist Church where Carol directed the choir for many years and was very active with the United Methodist Women. They moved to Clinton and joined First Methodist Church and was again very active with the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Frank Bunting Moore.
Survivors include: children, Karen Moore Wrench and husband Don of Clinton and Charles “Chuck” Stroud Moore and wife Cheryl of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Kathryn Wrench Jacomet (Tucker) of Raleigh, Emily Wrench Bullard (Aaron) of Clinton, Audrey Renee’ Moore of Seffner, Florida, Abigail Elizabeth Moore of Taylorsville and Wyatt Charles Moore of Taylorsville; and great-grandchildren, Annie Stroud Bullard and Mills Bunting Jacomet.
Funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, August 6th, at First Methodist Church of Clinton with Rev. Matt Seals officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 PM – 8 PM on Saturday, August 5th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to First Methodist Church, 208 Sampson St., Clinton, NC 28328 for bell tower chimes for the church.
