Clinton,
Dennis Arnold Stanley, 76, passed over to his heavenly home on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.
Dennis, born August 26, 1945 in Johnston County, was the son of the late Walter Kermit Stanley and Mary Beasley Stanley. He worked in the textile industry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Earl Stanley, Buck Stanley, Ray Stanley and Tommy Stanley, and step-grandchild, Will Gautier.
Survivors include; wife, Betty Holland Stanley; son, Ricky Stanley; step-children, Larry Gautier (Debbie), Lois Britt (Ronnie) and Keith Holland (Shawn); grandchildren, Jake Stanley (Destiny); great-grandchildren, Colton Allen and Cayden Ray Stanley; step-grandchildren, Josh, Holly, Audrey, Jessica, Jennifer, Rodney, Ashley and Carlyn; great-grandchildren, Nancy and Cayden; siblings, Jay Stanley, Sue Fortner (Robert), Margie Hill, Marcia Edgerton (Quincy), Maurice Stanley (Mary), and Wayne Stanley (Elizabeth).
Dennis worked most of his life in the textile industry. He was long distance truck driver. He enjoyed following the NASCAR races and for a while was a racecar driver. Dennis liked to watch go cart races and spent many hours watching his son race them. Dennis had a gift of “tinkering”. He enjoyed tinkering on anything with an engine.
In his later years of adulthood, he made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized and was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Each morning Dennis and his son Ricky would share devotion and prayer in the quietness of his home. This was a special bond they enjoyed.
Dennis was a family man. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Betty and friend Eric Strickland. He loved time spent with his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
To those who knew him, they knew he had an opinion about anything and everything and he would let you know it. He enjoyed bantering with others. He was loved by many and will be missed by many family and friends.
Heaven is his new home. No more suffering, no more pain. Dennis has a new body. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, November 8th at Bethel Baptist Church, 3168 NC 96, Four Oaks, NC.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
