Daniel Maxton Dyson, 91, of Clinton, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at home with his loving family by his side.

Funeral Services for Mr. Dyson will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11 AM at First Methodist Church, 208 Sampson St. Clinton, with Pastor Matt Seals, officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Interment will be Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 3:30 PM, at the Eastside Cemetery, 1484 Fayetteville Road, Rockingham, NC.   

Mr. Dyson was born in Lancaster, S. C., on July 26, 1934 to the late Jacob Olie Dyson and Fannie Esther Derrick Dyson and was the widower of Jerolene Diggs Dyson.   Mr. Dyson retired from the State of North Carolina where he was a Highway Patrolman.  After retirement he was known for his handy work, making beautiful picture frames and was a member of Garner 701 Masonic Lodge and a member of First Methodist Church in Clinton.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jan Weeks (Steve), and Mary Ann Dyson and his son Daniel Dyson, Jr. (Sandra), 3 Grandchildren; Jennifer Denning, Angela Hill and Daniel Dyson III (Ivy) and 2 Great Grandchildren; Rosemary Dyson and Jane Dyson and a brother, Charles Dyson (Floda)..
