Daisy Mae Underwood Smith, 78, of 800 Five Bridge Rd., passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at her home.

Funeral service will be held at 12 PM, Friday, May 12th at Colonial Heights Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Jernigan and Rev. Aaron Tyner officiating.  Interment will follow in the Clinton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and at other times at the home.

Daisy born, May 20, 1944 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Lewis Edgar Turner and Lizzie Jane Lucas Turner.  She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Howard “Billy” Underwood, and siblings Dorothy Jones, Josephine Davis, Rena Britt and Louise Street.

Survivors include: daughters, Dee Dee Underwood, Marie Underwood (Omar), and Betsy Tyner (Ronnie); grandchildren, Angel Smith, Johnathan Avery (Devan), Ashley Royal (Tommy), Aaron Tyner (Caroline), and Blake Tyner (Savanna); thirteen great-grandchildren; and sisters, Edna Byrd, Barbara Magon (Raymond) and Naomi Eaton (Mark).

Memorials may be made to Colonial Heights Freewill Baptist Church for the Building Fund.
