Clarence “Ross” Kirven, 75, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, May 28th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Eric Grubb officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the Parish Hall of St. Paul’s and at other times at the home.
Ross was born April 24, 1950, in Sampson County. He was the son of the late Clarence Kirven, Jr. and Ellen Ramah Ross Kirven. He worked in the tobacco industry for many years and was also a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Ross was known as “Poppy” to all his loving grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Len Kirven Lyons and her husband Gerry.
Survivors include; wife of 50 years, Linda Hobbs Kirven; sons, Michael Ross Kirven and Steed McPhail Kirven both of Clinton; daughter, Sarah Kirven Miller and husband Ross of Clinton; brother, Calvin McPhail Kirven and wife Helen of Raleigh; grandchildren, Olivia and Landon Toler, Caleb and Emma Kirven and Zac and Emma Miller.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 110 W Main Street, Clinton, NC 28328.
