Chrystal “Christy as she was known by her family and friends,” was born February 9, 1967, at Sampson Regional Medical Center to Percy and Farrell Rose Carter. Christy graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College as a respiratory therapist and served in the medical field for more than 25 years before retiring in 2015 from Clinton Medical Clinic. Christy had a love and passion for children that she was able to share as she worked alongside Dr. Mac Herring and Dr. William Carr. A member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Christy had a close relationship with her Lord and Savior. Christy was also a member of the Coharie Tribe.
The greatest joys in Christy’s life were her husband, sons and grandbabies. She cherished the times she was able to see one of them on a ball field or performing on the stage. Some of her favorite times were the sleepovers she would have with each of her grandchildren.
During Christy’s recent health challenges, her mother and sister-in-law, Tammy Jacobs, were instrumental in being by her side as a nurse and caregiver.
In addition to her parents, Percy and Farrell Rose Carter, Christy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Kent Bell; two sons, Kirk Bell and wife Hannah of Kenansville and Kullen Bell and his fiancé Courtney Merritt of Clinton; five grandchildren, Keegan Bell, Blakeley Bell, Whitley Grace Bell, Hugh Bell and Kolston Bell; two brothers, Tim Carter and wife Karen and Ron Carter and wife Kristy, all of Clinton; several special nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members and friends.
The family would like to extend deep gratitude to those who provided meals, kind thoughts and many prayers for Christy during the last few years.
