On Sunday, January 28, 2024, Christopher “Chris” Douglas King, of Rose Hill, NC passed away at the age of 63. Chris was born on December 25, 1960, to Paul Douglas King and Dorothy Barber King of Clinton, N.C.

Chris is survived by his wife of 38 years, Toni Warren King of Rose Hill and his three children, Jessica King Blanck (Lucas Blanck) of Cary, N.C., Tara Renee King of Rose Hill, N.C., and Christopher Tyler King (Mary Elizabeth Sides) of Rose Hill, N.C. He leaves behind six grandchildren who he adored, Rivers Wrenn, Anna Wrenn, and Gabriel Blanck of Cary, N.C. and Levi Powell, Dakota Powell, and Makaylynn Powell of Rose Hill, N.C. Additionally, Chris is survived by his brother, Adam King (Faye King) of Clinton, N.C. and several adored nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Chris was a graduate of Hobbton High School. He retired from Four County E.M.C after 29 years of service. Throughout his career, Chris fostered many friendships with an amazing cadre of community members.  Outside of work, Chris’ happiness revolved around his children, grandchildren, and wife.  He loved spending as much time with his grandchildren as he could from fishing, video games, and guitar lessons. Chris was the kind of man who never met a stranger and always made a friend.  He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and community.

Services to celebrate Chris’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Clinton, N.C. Graveside service will follow at the Barber Family Cemetery.
