Charles “Chuck” Henry Curtis, 84, of 2195 Reedsford Road, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral will be at 1:30 PM, Sunday, November 3rd at Rowan Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside after the service.
Chuck, born June 29, 1940 in Ashland, Kentucky, was the son of the late James Oliver Scott and Mary Frances Curtis. He was a produce manager for Piggly Wiggly for over 20 years. He served in the US Army and US Air Force along with being a member of the Sampson County Veterans Council, and VFW 7547 past Commander and American Legion past Commander.
Survivors include: wife of eight years, Deborah Jean Peterson Curtis; children, Charles Curtis, Jr., Marie Curtis Bryant (Jason), Michelle Renee Fleming (David), and Betty Jo Curtis; step-daughter, Leanne Peterson; grandchildren, Ryan Charles Curtis (Danielle), Michaela Brown, Alexandria Marie, Erica Michelle, Marianne Fleming, Jacob Fleming and Joseph Fleming; 21 great children; and siblings, Jack Maupin (Lisa), Windom Grace (Betty), Earl Grace (Debbie), Billy Grace (Jamie), Martin Grace, Helen Smith, Denis Maupin (Put) and Betty Meier (Larry).
