Carl Wayne Strickland, 87, of Clinton passed away peacefully Friday, February 13, 2026, in his hometown. He was born October 2, 1938, in Clinton to the late Rubert Strickland and Lura Opal Stewart Strickland.
Carl married the love of his life, Melba Nadine Bradshaw, on May 26, 1957, in Dillon, South Carolina. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. A man of many talents, Carl enjoyed working with his hands, watching westerns, and living life with quiet strength and purpose. He was known for his gentle and caring nature, especially toward animals, and for the warm smile that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Nadine Bradshaw Strickland of the home; his son, Michael Strickland and wife Angela Thomas Strickland; his grandson, Travis Strickland; his granddaughter, Rachel Strickland Doyle and husband Ashley Doyle; his brothers, Charles Strickland, Eddie Strickland, and Bobby Strickland; and many loved and cherished family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Strickland.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville Street, Clinton, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. A private burial will be held at the Bradshaw Family Cemetery.
