Carl Brantley Barefoot, 90, of 4090 Taylors Bridge Hwy., passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Friday, July 19th at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. Jeffrey Barber officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Carl, born November 5, 1933 in Georgia, was the son of the late John W. Barefoot and Margaret Helen Fisher Barefoot.  He was a Federal Food Inspector with the US Department of Agriculture and a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.  He served in the Marine Corps form 1953 – 1956.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers John Barefoot, Eugene Barefoot, Paul Barefoot, Joe Barefoot and sister Bettie B. Burnett.

He is survived by: wife of 68 years, Jean Barefoot; sons, Rickey Barefoot (Dana) and Danny Barefoot; daughter, Kelli B. Stroud (Stuart); grandchildren, Rachel B. Perkinson and (Jerry), Sarah B. Stewart and (Brad), Brantley Barefoot (Ashley), Noel Watkins and (Lee), Brooke B. Link (Joe), and Mary Stuart Stroud; and eleven great-grandchildren.
