Billy Lee Kersey, 79, of 410 E Johnson St., passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at his home.
Graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, May 9th at Clinton City Cemetery with Rev. Clay Carter officiating. A viewing will be available from 9 AM – 5 PM, Thursday, May 8th, at the funeral home.
Billy, born, June 17, 1945 in New Hanover County, was the son of the late Burnes Kersey and Rosie Cashwell Kersey. He worked at Hamilton Beach and Westpoint Pepperell and after retiring continued working as a painter. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Billy enjoyed watching the Tarheels and the NY Yankees. He was a dedicated fan of both. Billy was preceded in death by a sister Carol Kersey Dudley.
Survivors include: former wife, Robin (Shelly) Kersey; siblings, Alice Ezzell (Glen) and Ricky Kersey (Donna); nephew, John Junior Shipp; niece, Ashley Kersey; brother-in-law, Frank Dudley; and numerous cousins and friends.
