Billy Parker Baggett “Billy Pat”, 79, of Roseboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2026, surrounded by family at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, January 11th at Mt. Elam Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Glunt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Saturday, January 10th at Mt. Elam Baptist Church and at other times at the home.
Billy Pat, born May 10, 1946, in Harnett County was the son of the late William Floyd Baggett and Betty Lorena Parker Baggett. He was a family farmer and retired from Goodyear. Billy Pat was a deacon and lifelong member of Mt. Elam Baptist Church. He loved his church, church family and especially enjoyed his Sunday School class and members.
Billy Pat loved his family and treasured time with his loved ones, especially when it meant watching his grandchildren play ball. He loved cheering on the Carolina Tar Heels and Los Angeles Dodgers. Billy Pat loved to spend time outdoors hunting, fishing, and tinkering with tractors and farm equipment.
Billy Pat is survived by his wife, Loretta Naylor Baggett of 59 years; children, Susan Clark (Cullen), Emily Barefoot (Travis), Ira Baggett (Maranda) and Parker Baggett. He had one sister, Betty Baggett Wilson (Luther). He was loved by fifteen grandchildren, Luke Clark (Ali), Jake Clark (Lexi), Emma Clark, Ella Clark, Garrett Barefoot (Lindsey), Erin Barefoot, Grant Barefoot, Nate Smith, Abby Baggett, Chloe Baggett, Mallory Baggett, Cole Baggett, Gracyn Baggett, Will Baggett and Blaire Baggett; and one great grandson, Everett Barefoot.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Elam Baptist Church, 2211 Mt. Elam Church Road, Roseboro, NC 28382.
