Betty Irene (Coats) Strickland

Betty Irene Strickland, 77,  passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Laurels of Pender.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, October 17th, at Harmony Baptist Church with Pastor Griffin officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12 PM – 1 PM, at Harmony Baptist Church just before the service.

Betty born in 1943 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Willie Milbert Coats and Irene Lockamy Coats.  She was a seamstress and previously attended Harmony Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lewis Strickland.

Survivors include; children, Ronnie Lewis Strickland of Rocky Point, Nancy Rebecca Strickland, Maxton Lee Strickland and wife Helen, MA, Jeffery Wayne Strickland of Rocky Point, and Albert DeLeon Strickland wife Ronda of Burgaw; grandchildren, Justin Strickland (Khristina) , Jeremy Strickland (Danielle), James Adam Strickland, Joseph Strickland, Jackson Lee Strickland and Caroline Strickland; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary Coats  and Dorman Coats (Connie); and sisters, Sandra Coats, Cathy Harpster (Dick), and Linda Collier and Karen Capps (Michael)
