Barbara Lou Simmons Naylor, 67, of 781 Honeycutt Road, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at her home.

Funeral service will be held at 3 PM, Friday, June 23rd at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Creech officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 PM – 8 PM, Thursday, June 22nd at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Barbara Lou, born May 12, 1956 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Rexton Bernie “Billy” Simmons and Sudie Alene Blackburn Simmons.  She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and worked with Woodmen of the World and retired from the Sampson County Schools Board of Education.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William “Keith” Naylor, brother, Roy Jennings Simmons and nephew, Trampus Jennings Simmons.

Survivors include: daughter, Amy Leah Naylor (Douglas Lockamy); brother, Rexton Billy Simmons and wife Linda; sister, Sherry Lee Fann and husband Keith; mother-in-law, Berneice Naylor; bonus grandchildren, Autumn and Hunter Lockamy; grandpups, Tate and Rocky; and many special loved ones.

Memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11341 N US Hwy 421, Clinton, NC 28328 or to the Sudan Shriners Fund, PO Box 12829, New Bern, NC  28561.
