Aubrey “Audie” Taylor Yancey, Jr., 81, born in Clinton, North Carolina , passed away, Monday, October 22, 2018 at his home in Pilot Mountain
Aubrey, born January 3, 1937 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Aubrey Taylor Yancey, Sr. and Janie Scott Hudson Yancey. He retired from the US Marines after serving twenty years and having served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He served previously as the pastor of First Baptist Church in Quartz Hill, California and now attended Liberty Baptist Church in Hickory, NC.
Aubrey came to know the Lord in September 1975. He surrendered to the ministry.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, October 29, 2018 with military honors at Rowan Baptist Church, 701 Rowan Road, Clinton, with the Reverend Gene Gouge officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, 118 Fayetteville St., Clinton, NC 28328.
Survivors include; wife of fifty-four years, Bertha Subias Yancey; children, Rosa Mills and husband Joe, Teresa Joy Jewell Williams and husband Henry, Paula Jewell, Rosanna S. Yancey, Daniel Jewell and Dwain Jewell; sister, Nadine Spaugh of VA; and many grandchildren.
